The Chai Wan Government Complex and Vehicle Depot project is designed under the “single site, multiple usesˮ concept to reprovision and centralise facilities for five key government departments: Hong Kong Police Force, Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, Electrical & Mechanical Services Department, Government Logistics Department and the Government Laboratory. The complex delivers approximately 39,500m² CFA.
The project showcases exemplary integration of MiMEP installation at a significant communitydevelopment in Hong Kong. Through the strategic use of modular prefabrication combined with advanced BIM coordination, ArchSD (Client) and REC (Building Services Sub-contractor) successfully designed, produced, fabricated and installed over 1,350 MiMEP modules. This approach achieved an impressive 87% adoption rate based on the calculation of PNAP APP-151 and 19 out of 27 nos. of plantroom with 100% MiMEP coverage, significantly reducing on-site labor demands, shortening construction schedules, minimising material waste, therebyenhancing overall project efficiency and quality.
This achievement sets a benchmark of sustainability, safety and innovation in Hong Kong'sconstruction works sector.
